I will stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
